AtBackgrounds is a dba of G&M Hire Enterprises, LLC, a California Corporation based in Temecula, CA. AtBackgrounds is engaged primarily in the business of providing background checks and drug testing (also known as Consumer Reports) to employers for purposes of due diligence in employment (permissible purpose). AtBackgrounds receives Consumer Report requests from authorized employer clients with a permissible purpose and processes these requests only with the express written permission of the individual subject of the report.

AtBackgrounds uses information provided by the applicant along with information developed through a search of proprietary, local, state, and federal records sources to compile a consumer report and delivers these reports to clients in strict compliance with FCRA and applicable state requirements.

Consumer rreports are not used for any purpose other than that for which we have been authorized by the consumer, and is not shared with anyone aside from the consumer and the employer client and its representatives who requested the report. Consumer information gathered as a result of our business processes is not used for marketing purposes, mail lists, or any other purpose. In simple terms, your personal information is safe with AtBackgrounds, and we do not do anything untoward with it.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: This includes identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, social security number and postal address.
  • Commercial Information: Information about your transactions with us or our partners.
  • Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information: Your IP address, browsing history, and interactions with our Site.
  • Geolocation Data: Information about your location when you use our Site or services.
  • Professional or Employment-Related Information: Details related to your job and professional qualifications, if applicable.

As part of our regular business process, AtBackgrounds receives Personally Identifiable Information (PII) provided directly by employment applicants or by our clients to carry out background checks. This information is collected through the secure AtBackgrounds system for processing. The information is used solely to process client requests and may be provided to relevant third parties for the purpose of processing said requests. PII provided to AtBackgrounds is held in secure encrypted servers and data does not leave the United States, with the exception of instances where an international verification requires the sending of the limited PII required to process an international request. For example, an education verification in India will require us to send applicant name, roll number, and educational institution attended to our international researcher.

Information collected through the AtBackgrounds website may include, but is not limited to: Name, Social Security Number, Address History, Employment History, Education History, Criminal Records, Driver Records, Professional Licensure Information, Personal References, and credit history. PII is retained for a minimum of 6 years to ensure compliance with FCRA and state consumer records retention requirements. Consumers are free to not provide AtBackgrounds any PII.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide and improve our services and products.
  • To communicate with you.
  • To process transactions and manage orders.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others.

5. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Employer Clients: In connection with an employment application.
